The heavy, stepped monolithic volume inspired by the Dataran Malawati hill contour has been strictly preserved, but the architectural skin and internal zoning have been fundamentally upgraded.
1. Microclimatic Envelope & Passive Airflow
What Changed: The original flush, sealed concrete block walls have been replaced with an integrated perforated precast concrete screen system on wind-facing facades.
Why It Changed: The original design completely blocked the predictable afternoon wind patterns. Introducing the porous masonry skin allows the stable Northwest breeze to permeate the interior galleries naturally. This provides constant passive cooling and ventilation without shattering the heavy, silent acoustic protection required to isolate the interior from tourist and traffic noise.
2. Solar Self-Shading & Deep Fenestration Gaps
What Changed: The thin, line openings originally placed flush against the external wall have been pulled back into deep structurally recessed horizontal slot cavities.

Why It Changed: The original plan forced an abrupt, jarring transition from the chaotic external environment of Dataran Malawati directly into the clear-lit spaces. This new physical sequence acts as a sensory buffer zone, dropping the visitor's body temperature, dampening outside sound, and allowing the eyes to adjust to lower lux levels before stepping into the silent sanctuary.
