Mohamed AFIFI

🏫Currently a third year PhD Fellow in International Economics at the Centre d’Economie de la Sorbonne, University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne under the supervision of Maria Bas. I hold a B.A. in Economics from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, and an M.A. in Development Economics from University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

🧭My research interests are in international trade, trade policy, with a particular focus on non-tariff measures, and firm outcomes. 

🏢Before starting my PhD, I completed research internships  at  the Economic Research Forum (ERF) and in the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development. I am also a member of the French Association of Development Economists (AFEDEV).
