Dr. Moffit is your guide for this adventure, and she will bring the same excitement and passion that she has for learning in her personal life into the classroom for you. This will be her 15th year of teaching and her fourth year in the De Soto School District. Dr. Moffit travels and has adventures all over the world when she is not teaching, to include meeting her 115 year old tortoise friend, Clyde, operating a steam train from 1880 with engineers, riding horseback across the Gettysburg battlefield, and just spending quality time with her husband and four daughters in the community and at home.

Influenced by her family's diverse musical background, Dr. Moffit has been heavily active in the music community. Her voice is part of the Disney chorus on three albums, as she was a Cast Member and performer at Walt Disney World from 1999-2002. Her vocal work can also be heard during the EPCOT soundtrack of "Illuminations", which was a fireworks show performed to thousands every night at the theme park until it's final performance in 2019. Dr. Moffit has maintained a close relationship with the Walt Disney Company, serving on the Theme Park Education Coalition since 2007. This coalition has allowed for her students to benefit each year, providing opportunities and grants for supplies to her classrooms.

Dr. Moffit has many degrees. She holds her Bachelor's Degree from Central Methodist University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Webster University, a Master of Arts in Communication Arts from Webster University, and a Master of Science in Education from Capella University. She has completed her doctorate work through the University of Missouri Columbia. In addition, she has certifications to teach first through sixth grade, middle school communication arts, and has completed her gifted certification through Truman State University.

Aside from music and education, Dr. Moffit's hobbies include a passion for Disney, the St. Louis Cardinals and Blues, reading, history, Dungeons and Dragons, Harry Potter, and traveling with her family. Dr. Moffit has raised four wonderful daughters with her husband, and three of them are currently attending college while her oldest daughter has completed college and has a successful operatic and teaching career in St. Louis and can be heard performing with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus and at the MUNY opera.

Dr. Moffit cherishes the opportunity to work with every individual student, and gives each one of them the best of her attention and effort in the hopes that they will achieve personal success in their own future.
