"Blessed is the man who, having nothing to say, abstains from giving us wordy evidence of the fact."
- George Eliot
Q. What is 'speaking in'?
A. Great question. It's something stupid we made up. But it's no more or less stupid than telling women to 'lean in' (read more about this in our resources).
You can also choose to interpret 'speaking in' as a polite way of telling men to be quiet (and stop 'speaking out'). Instead of telling women to 'make themselves heard' and giving them strategies to 'deal with interrupters', why not just ask men to listen and stop interrupting?
Simple!
