Why We Started
Modern Motion Dance Company was born in 2024 from a passion for creating meaningful dance opportunities for young people. What began as project/performance-based experiences for youth grew into a vibrant studio where creativity, expression, and community are at the heart of everything we do. In 2025, our work was recognised at the Inspired Dance Youth Film Festival, where we were honoured as an award recipient.
We started Modern Motion because we believe dance should be a place where every dancer feels welcome to explore, imagine, and grow. A space where young people can develop their skills, express their individuality, and build confidence through movement.
Today, Modern Motion Dance Company provides engaging classes and performance opportunities for dancers from preschool through to adults. Our goal is simple: to nurture creativity, celebrate individuality, and create a supportive community where every dancer has the chance to tell their story and be part of something special.
Our Values
Creativity
We encourage dancers to explore movement, imagination, and storytelling, helping each dancer discover their unique artistic voice.
Community
We are a supportive and welcoming space where dancers feel connected, valued and part of something bigger.
Confidence
Through positive encouragement and creative learning, we help dancers build confidence in themselves and their abilities.
Individuality
Every dancer is different. We celebrate personal expression and support each dancer’s journey and growth.
Joy of Dance
Above all, we believe dance should be fun, inspiring, and something dancers look forward to every week.

As a performer, Tabatha has been involved in memorable experiences such as the Moomba Parade and a range of stage productions. These opportunities continue to inspire her vision of nurturing young dancers not only as performers, but as confident individuals both on and off the stage.
