The lead (Kishore) is a married man who is "entangled" with a woman (Vijayalakshmi) he met on metro. Wait a minute, Did he just call his lover to home to meet his wife! ITHANDA MODERN LOVE xD. This is odd as things are going so polite. I mean, Is this even chennai edition? Ramya nambeesan plays a subtle wife, a patient woman like way tooo patient for a chennai woman. No stereotyping bruh! I like the dialogues in the movie but this is way too mature and modern for Chennai, imo. Honestly didn't expect such modernity from Bharathiraja! It was kinda good only.

Both Sanjula and Chu are perfect as teenagers falling in love and their performances with minimal expressions are underplayed and realistic. Ilaiyaraaja's music amps up the segment and set the tone right from the beginning. It is neither too modern nor too indie and stays truly original with its craft and what it wants to say.
