"Tiger Cafe" 5th Grade Mural
It is my professional dream to create an innovative and imaginative space for hands-on learning; to foster passion, creativity, intrigue and Arts Appreciation for enthusiasts of all ages.
I was born and raised a proud Pittsburgher, I have spent the past 13 years teaching Art in rural South Carolina. As an Art Educator, I have developed a rich, progressively skill-building curriculum that is largely rooted in STEAM learning. I work closely with the Special Olympics of South Carolina and conduct a Unified Art class, a leadership program that partners students from both the special needs and general education classes, in which our goal is to foster Inclusion, Awareness and Advocacy for students with disabilities. I love to collaborate, especially with fellow Fine Arts disciplines; I have co-produced Musical Theater Productions, Talent Shows, and Fine Arts Festivals at school. Teaching is my heart, I live to experience those amazing “AHA! Moments” and witness the pride my students show in their work.
Students work to express themselves Visually with pride. Award winning pieces and art work that will be displayed for years in their homes, my students learn through passion, expression, creative problem solving and challenging exploration of materials and techniques.
