Virtual "Tea" at the MOCAT Gather.town (estimated to begin around 3:00pm central)
We are working with the UT Austin Department of Mathematics to host a virtual preview of our graduate program. At this event you will:
Meet graduate students and professors in structured and informal settings,
Learn about our department culture,
Learn about Austin, Texas.
The preview will consist of a panel discussion on Zoom, followed by a Q&A discussion. The panel will include:
the Graduate Program Advisor, Professor Tim Perutz,
Professors David Ben-Zvi, Lorenzo Sadun, and Rachel Ward.
Current math graduate students.
Afterwards, there will be a virtual “tea” in the MOCAT Gather.town, a virtual space where multiple conversations can happen in the same virtual room. In this space you can ask professors about their research, or graduate students about their experiences with courses, prelims, their favorite taco places, or any other questions you might have!
This event is designed for students applying to start graduate school in Fall 2021. Anyone is welcome and underrepresented students are especially encouraged to attend. Come find out why you should apply to UT!
The application deadline to apply to UT is Dec. 15 at midnight. Details about applying can be found here: https://www.ma.utexas.edu/academics/graduate/admissions
