* Storage: Location coordinates are saved locally on your device in a secure
Room SQLite database (tables: "gps_tracks", "favorite_locations", and
"recent_live_locations"). We do not transmit location coordinates to remote servers.
B. Audio Recording & Pattern Detection
* Declared Permissions:
- android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO (Record Audio)
- android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE (Background Audio Service)
* Purpose: Required to run detection algorithms (clap and whistle detection) to
locate your phone. When the microphone detects a matching clap or whistle
frequency, the App fires the alarm/siren.
* Privacy Protection: The audio signal is processed in real-time, in-memory,
and strictly locally. No audio files or recordings are stored, saved, or shared.
C. Camera & Flashlight Beacon
* Declared Permissions:
- android.permission.CAMERA (Camera Access)
* Purpose: Used to trigger the device's camera flash LED as a visual beacon
(supporting Default, Disco, or SOS blink modes) when the phone locator alarm
is triggered.
* Privacy Protection: The App does not capture, store, or transmit any images,
photos, or video feeds.
D. Device Administration Privileges
* Declared Permissions:
- android.permission.BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN (Device Admin Access)
* Purpose: Users may optionally grant Device Administrator privileges to activate
anti-theft triggers (e.g., remote locking of the screen or device shutdown
prevention).
* Control: You can activate or deactivate this feature at any time through the
App's settings tab or the Android System settings.
E. Contacts and Call Capabilities
* Declared Permissions:
- android.permission.READ_CONTACTS (Read Contacts)
- android.permission.CALL_PHONE (Initiate Calls)
* Purpose: Declared to support helper utilities (such as quick dials to emergency
contacts or lookups for localized mobile codes).
* Privacy Protection: No contact information is extracted, read in the background,
or shared with third parties.
F. System Overlay & Settings Customization
* Declared Permissions:
- android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW (Draw Over Other Apps): Enables the
App to overlay the alarm control screen immediately when a clap, whistle,
unplug, or motion event is triggered, even if the device is locked.
- android.permission.MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS: Allows the App to raise the media
and ring volume to maximum, ensuring you can hear the locator alarm.
- android.permission.VIBRATE: Used to shake the device as an added alert.
- android.permission.HIGH_SAMPLING_RATE_SENSORS: Allows continuous monitoring
of the accelerometer sensor to power the "Do Not Touch" (motion detector)
and anti-theft services.
G. Background Operations & Persistence
* Declared Permissions:
- android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Restarts active background detectors
(like clap/whistle/motion triggers) automatically when your device reboots.
- android.permission.WAKE_LOCK: Prevents the CPU from sleeping while active
anti-theft services are running.
- android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Displays status notifications to inform
you that background trackers are actively running (Android 13+).
