What to bring to the appointment:
Acceptable Forms of Identification
Signers must have one of the following:
*The following documents can be expired if they were issued in the past 5 years.
Identification card or driver's license issued by California
United States Passport
Inmate ID card issued by California Department of Corrections or Sheriff's Department
*The following documents must be current.
Identification card or driver's license issued by another state in the United States
Driver's license issued by Mexico or Canada
ID card issued by any branch of United States Armed Forces
Employee card issued by an agency or office of the State of California or of a city, county, or city and county of California.
ID card issued by a federally recognized tribal government
*All identification documents must contain a photograph, physical description, signature and an identifying number
Before the Appointment
Please make sure the document is completely filled out. A notary public cannot notarize an incomplete document (Government Code 8205)
Documents in foreign languages - I can notarize a document in a foreign language but you must be able to verbally communicate with me in English.
If you do not have an acceptable form of identification you may bring 2 witnesses with the appointment with you to verify your identity. Both of those witnesses must have acceptable forms of identification.
