Mobile Communication Laboratory is one of the laboratories owned by the Faculty of Electrical and Communication Engineering. This laboratory was donated by PT MOTOROLA and inaugurated on April 18, 1994 by Gary L Tooker, vice Chairman & chief officer of PT MOTOROLA. This donation is an actualization of the Link and Match program between STT Telkom (U-T) and MOTOROLA.
Our lab has 2 divisions namely cellular network (CN) and Internet of Things (IoT), with these divisions we work together to continue to innovate in the development of research around cellular communication and IoT.
The main focus of the CN division is to understand the concept of cellular technology both in theory and in actual practice in the field. As cellular technology is a multi-disciplinary topic, CN focuses on the following:
Cellular Network Fundamentals and Architecture
Physical Layer of Cellular Network
Drive Test, Radio Network Planning & Optimization, Logfile analysis.
Python & D2D
The IoT division has vast broad scope of mastery because this field requires mastering hardware such as electronic circuits & microcontrollers, software such as coding to create mobile applications, and server set-up. The resulting output or project is applicable, meaning that it can be used directly to interact with users according to the purpose for which it was made.
