Mobile Anti Theft Alarm use the device camera to take picture when someone fails to unlock your phone the number of times specified in the app settings. The app does not take pictures or record video at any other time.
The pictures are stored on your device and can be emailed to you if you enable that function in the app settings. The pictures are not shared with the developers or any third party.
If the location feature is enabled, Mobile Anti Theft Alarm acquires the device’s location when a photo is taken after a failed unlock attempt. This location data is embedded into the photo and can be emailed to the user if the email function is enabled.
Mobile Anti Theft Alarm does not track or acquire the user’s location at any other time and does not share location data with the developers or any third party.
Microphone permission is needed for the app to detect clapping sounds, the app record and analyse the recording in memory, this recordings are never stored as it is only used to find the phone location by clapping.
The permission is also needed for the app to record the surrounding audio in background when the phone detects that a user has entered a wrong access code a certain number of times, the audio recordings are stored locally on the device. Recordings are not shared with the developers or any third party
Mobile Anti Theft Alarm may request users to sign in with their email account and grant permission to send emails on the user's behalf. This is done to avoid sending sensitive data (such as photos, location, and audio) through third-party servers.
The app only sends emails to the email address specified by the user in the app settings or the gmail user signed in by default.
CrookCatcher does not access, read, or manage the user's emails or contacts and does not share the user's email address with the developers or any third party.
