For me it is not just a nuisance. I cannot make the editor and the keyboard appear at the same time. No matter where I scroll, the keyboard always occludes the editor. I need to type completely blind.

I have a proposed fix up at FIX: Better virtual keyboard detect on Android by xfalcox  Pull Request #17200  discourse/discourse  GitHub but there is a upstream Chromium bug that I need to wait to be fixed before merging it.

Click on the bottom Pop up! toggle, and you'll see a div with some inputs show up. As usual, when you click on one of these inputs in your mobile browser, a keyboard is displayed, which in result will resize the website. This is no problem on my website when the input high enough on the screen (above the keyboard). But if I didn't scroll down as much, and the keyboard pops up above the selected input element, my whole website is being pushed up, and some blank space is created under my content. Even after I close the keyboard, that blank space stays there.

For anyone still having issues with this:The size of any viewport based/percentage element will change when the virtual keyboard is invoked (Android). One fix is to get the size of the current inner window height (in px)and then use that as the height of the element that you want to remain constant on keyboard popup.

This is a simple fix I was able to implement in my code using JavaScript for fixing the problem of elements adjusting to the screen size on a mobile device when the keyboard is open and when any variation of the height property of an elements style was set for responsiveness eg. vh or %.

My Wedge keyboard has also stopped working. It has been fine for the last year until I upgraded IOS to 7.1.2 and then it stopped working. I tested it on an HP laptop and it is working fine. If I was a cynical person at all I could read something into this coincident. My Apple still works fine but I prefer the MS one because it has a neat support for the ipad, this also provides physical protection and finally is smaller. No point in suggesting I check the MS item because I have and it didn't work.

I have gotten it to work on my iPhone with iOS 7.1.2. Per the Microsoft link above, you just have to put your keyboard in discovery mode (hold FN+bluetooth button (under keyboard next to battery slot)). Your iPhone/iPad will then see it, and does not require any pin to pair it up.

Getting Exactly the same thing when trying to edit on mobile.

I seem to be able to read things fine, but note making, taking / editing is a no no.

Android 13, Obsidian Mobile v1.4.1, Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G

The default Samsung Keyboard has Predictive Text enabled as an option; with this enabled, the keyboard flickers between normal functioning and selecting all text in the primary entry box, which disables the keyboard. This effect only occurs when editing a note in edit mode; other text boxes in the app are unaffected.

I mean by pressing F6 for example, the Search charm appears on Windows 8, and i can use F6 if i press the Fn key together with it. Is there any way i can change how it works? It would be verry important for me, i lost many hotkey combination this way :\Its a bluetooth wireless keyboard, i could not finy any bios setting for it (like some laptops, but i'm on desktop PC). i have

As per @AkA Kin and @Yuji it seems that AutoHotKey is the solution. Found this great script by tehshane that "remaps the F1-F12 function keys on the Microsoft Sculpt Mobile keyboard to be pressed without having to use the Fn key":

Sure, I no longer have keyboard support for volume - compared to the Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 6000. But I do gain a hardwired Home and End Keys. And I can easily create a macro to control the volume.

I wouldn't worry about battery life from keeping the Fn key pressed down since usually I turn off the keyboard when not used - when the keyboard is used as a mobile keyboard. When used as a desktop keyboard, we will have to see if battery life is reduced.

The keyboard will appear automatically when a user taps on editable GUI elements. Currently, GUI.TextField, GUI.TextArea and GUI.PasswordField will display the keyboard; see the GUI class documentation for further details.

By default, an edit box will be created and placed on top of the keyboard after it appears. This works as preview of the text that user is typing, so the text is always visible for the user. However, you can disable text preview by setting TouchScreenKeyboard.hideInput to true. Note that this works only for certain keyboard types and input modes. For example, it will not work for phone keypads and multi-line text input. In such cases, the edit box will always appear. TouchScreenKeyboard.hideInput is a global variable and will affect all keyboards.

Note that TouchScreenKeyboard.area will return a Rect with position and size set to 0 until the keyboard is fully visible on the screen. You should not query this value immediately after TouchScreenKeyboard.Open(). The sequence of keyboard events is as follows:

It is possible to configure the keyboard to hide symbols when typing. This is useful when users are required to enter sensitive information (such as passwords). To manually open keyboard with secure text input enabled, use the following code:

Hi,

I have a problem with a form when viewed from my mobile device (Samsung S10e): When I click on an input field, the keyboard pushes all the content up and partly out of the screen. But I want the keyboard to go over the content, and just push up an input field if it would be underneath it.

I recently bought a Samsung TV an I install de SmartThings app to manage it. It will be very useful if yo add a keyboard option to the app, so tou can use your phone keyboard to register mails, search webpages, movies I streaming services etc. Is it possible?

The Bluetooth keyboard (and this serverless Bluetooth keyboard app) works with most of the apps I have installed like Netflix, Disney, Apple TV, Google Play Movies, YouTube Video, and the Samsung Web Browser (with mouse input too), but surprisingly not the Amazon Prime Video app.

Unfortunately, support for native on-screen keyboard is a browser issue. Until the browsers on these platforms handle keyboard events more intelligently, the best short-term solution will probably be to make the provided JavaScript on-screen keyboard more usable for touch interfaces.

In both iOS and Android, the on-screen keyboard only displays when an input field has focus. As keyboard input to Guacamole does not come from an input field, the on-screen keyboard is hidden. There is no way (currently) to hint to the browser that the keyboard should be displayed, and neither mobile browser uses the presence of keyboard event handlers to trigger such a display.

It is possible to force the on-screen keyboard to display on Android by holding the menu button for a second or two, but this still causes problems with some browsers: opening the on-screen keyboard in the default Android browser causes the URL bar to gain focus, and the mobile version of Firefox doesn't fire keyboard events for keypresses on the on-screen keyboard for any letter keys.

I actually tried this on ios - ipad - and there only appear 4 buttons on the right bottom. Ctrl Alt Esc Tab. The native keyboard never shows up.

--- during trying now.. i figuerd it out that i had to click on the left bottom bar to make the keyboard appear. Nice, but .. i can't hide the keyboard anymore and the canvas is minimized so that i cant really see what i type. To hide the keyboard i have to switch the input method again. When i use the build in 'hide' button the keyboard moves down but comes up right away again.

Update: Happens in Safari - in Chrome i can hide the keyboard

* Please note, this keyboard does not come with a Bluetooth Dongle Adapter. Many newer PC's, Mac's, and laptops have a built-in Bluetooth receiver, and do not require a dongle adapter. To see if your system requires a Bluetooth Dongle, please review this article carefully: "How Can I Tell If My Device Is Equipped With Bluetooth Technology." If you would like to purchase a Bluetooth Dongle, please find our Bluetooth Dongle under the Accessories tab.

In order to switch between PC and Mac mode, you will need to move the switch located on the back of the keyboard to your desired operating system (PC or Mac). Once you select your operating system, and pair your keyboard, the keyboard will automatically install the necessary driver software.

Please implement a custom keyboard for filling usernames, passwords, and other fields, including custom ones, on Android. This would be useful for security, convenience, and usability reasons, as it would reduce use of the clipboard, allow easier selection of custom fields without leaving the target app, and be supported by almost any app, regardless of newness.

I like the 9 key Japanese keyboard on my phone much more than the English keyboard on my phone. I still make typos, but they tend to be more swipe related rather than missing the button I aimed for entirely like English. Tiny English buttons are no bueno.

I have more difficult with the extended kana keyboard, the one that appears on the ipad in landscape orientation, and that sometimes pops up in certain japanese cash machines. Takes me forever on that one.

Mobile devices are used regularly within enterprise operations, and by nearly all consumers. The risks of using these devices and apps must still always be gauged against the obvious benefits of being mobile, but rarely are. A worrisome situation exists which holds the potential to allow any mobile user to unknowingly share every keystroke made on their mobile device with several third-parties, unbeknownst to that user. Recording keystrokes or injecting malicious keystrokes is a very effective means of gaining access to a device, a network, or an account through re-using the many keystrokes made by the unwitting user. 2351a5e196
