I grew up going to Margate, NJ in the summer and every morning I woke up early enough to walk to WAWA with my grandma. There we would each get a cup of medium-roast Columbian coffee. I was about ten years old at the time so my cup was filled with a splash of coffee and milk to the top. As I got a little older, my love for coffee and the community it fosters continued to grow. when I turned 13 I began saying, "When I get older I am going to own a coffee shop." After high school, I still wanted to open my shop but, I had new passions and opportunities that felt more important at the time. My passion for the environment led me to graduate from Ramapo College of New Jersey with a degree in sustainability and business management. Throughout college, I was recruited for modeling and had the opportunity to travel and experience new cultures. I spent 6 months in London in 2023, I spent most of my free time at local coffee shops and visiting parks. One thing I noted was the way people spent time relaxing while they drank coffee. Here in the US, when we think of coffee, we think of the caffeine needed to get through our busy work schedules. I loved the idea of sitting outside drinking coffee from an actual mug while socializing with members of your community. While in London, I went on a trip to Amsterdam for a few days where I stayed in a hostel with a friend. Next door was a quiet small-town coffee shop and they truly had the best-tasting latte I have ever experienced in my life. Since then, I began to take a deep dive into specialty coffee and brewing techniques. I needed to replicate my latte from Amsterdam. When I came back to Bucks County, PA I had the opportunity to do a handful of cupping experiences with local roasters. The one that got my attention is Homestead Coffee Roasters, where I currently source all of my coffee beans. Their coffee is profound and I encourage you to visit their cafe if you ever have the opportunity.
Moving forward, I recognized the need for specialty coffee at community and private events in Bucks County and the surrounding areas. Therefore, I decided to create a way to bring coffee to events while maintaining the presentation and quality of a local brick-and-mortar cafe. My boyfriend and I spent a few months planning the build of my cart and the logistics that went into making it compact for convenience purposes. Ever since then, I have been working with my roaster, wedding planners, community event organizers, and corporations to bring quality coffee to the local community.Â
