The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a 3-digit phone number that can connect anyone experiencing a mental health, suicide, or substance use crisis to free and confidential support anytime they need it. The Missouri Department of Mental Health has launched a statewide campaign to spread awareness and educate Missourians on this life saving service. Within this toolkit you will find graphics, videos, print materials, and more. These are available for you to share with friends, family, local organizations, and anyone else who may need it. Help us spread the word about 988 and save lives.
Help educate others about the warning signs of suicide and provide them with the resources they need to take care of themselves and support those in crisis. By sharing the graphics and videos in our toolkit throughout September, you can play a part in preventing suicide. Together, we can save lives. Thank you for participating in Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
The Missouri Suicide Prevention Network (MSPN) has launched a Suicide Prevention & 988 Guide for Schools to better address and meet the needs of schools across the state. The purpose is to help school personnel implement suicide prevention, intervention and crisis response services, and postvention resources into their protocols and practices.
The Missouri 988 & 9-1-1 Toolkit is a joint resource developed by the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), 988 Centers, Missouri Behavioral Health Council (MBHC), and 9-1-1 partners to support coordination between 988 and 9-1-1. Designed for both systems, the toolkit includes guidance on when to use each service, how to navigate Missouri’s crisis system, and how to share data and communicate effectively. It features sample MOUs, decision trees, and shared metrics to help ensure individuals in crisis receive the right support at the right time.
Both the National and Missouri 988 websites have valuable resources available for sharing.
