About Me

I am currently employed as an Associate Professor (Civil Engineering) at School of Infrastructure, IIT Bhubaneswar. I joined the Institute in 2016 as an Assistant Professor. Here, I teach subjects related to water resources engineering as well as foundation subjects of civil engineering at undergraduate and graduate level. I have also been mentoring talented and hardworking PhD/project scholars, project team members, M. Tech. (WRE) and B. Tech. (Civil Engineering) research students.  Please visit my Institute profile page for more details

I earned my Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, USA working on different aspects of drought analysis. I completed my M.E. degree in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering from IISc Bangalore, India. You can find more about my research background in articles published in reputed scientific journals in the domain of water resources and hydro-climatology. Similarly, the collaborations established via different sponsored research projects have connected me with international/national water resources experts on various topics and we have jointly organized scientific outreach programmes (workshops and short-term courses) in India for capacity building. I have presented in conferences organized by the European Water Resources Association (EWRA), International Indian Statistical Association (IISA), Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS), Indian Society of Hydraulics (ISH), Soil Water Conservation Society (SWCS), American Geophysical Union (AGU), European Geophysical Union (EGU) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). As a resource person, I have also delivered lectures in few Faculty Development Programs, National Workshops,  and GIAN Short-Term Courses on different topics that draw upon my research expertise.
