In my opinion, I believe that there has a relationship between lecturers and students. My responsibility as a lecturer is not only giving them a knowledge, but also to offer students with a conducive environment to learn and to facilitate them to seek knowledge that will help them to success in achieving their goals.

My teaching and research are focused in natures that involve the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer programming and multimedia technology. My other teaching responsibilities include the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate student final year project, industrial practical supervision and also for academic advisors. Every semester, I also involves as a panel for final year projects (PSM) and diploma mini project (PMD) for undergraduate students. In this assessment, I will make sure that the students will apply their knowledge in order to develop their final project. As an academic advisor, I guide them on appropriate study skills, motivate them, and take care of their problems as well as their welfare during study in UTeM. The primary focus in this teaching goal is providing an environment which promotes better learning. I have found that it is especially important to remain flexible, and modify the teaching methods to fit the students in the class. It is important to talk to the students and grade some assignments and/or quizzes early in the course to get an idea of the various students' strengths and weaknesses. Then I can try to adjust my teaching methods accordingly, and in the process, hopefully benefit all of the students. In particular, I have been trying to consciously slow down and not try to cover so much material in class. I want to do a better job covering the most important topics rather than a poor job covering all the topics. I can leave more material for the students to learn on their own, with my guidance and direction.
Before I started the class, normally I give the students a brief summary of the previous class session and also give them a short description of the topic that we are currently working on. I usually give a lecture on new material and I try to always give them the examples of the current topic that will discuss on that session. I also encourage them to answer the questions with a follow-up discussion to end the class. In my lecture, I always use the multimedia material for my presentation because I believe that the students can give more concentration in the class.
For the assignments, I give them the assignments that are related with the design aspect and they do the assignments in a group contains about of 3 to 4 students. In this assignment, they would apply the basic knowledge of this subject to complete their assignments. Usually, before the tests or exam, I spend some time during the lecture to discuss what topics will be covered and which are more important. When I teach the same subject again for the next semester, I do not usually ask the same questions but often ask the similar ones.
