• What do you love most about being on the MN AHEAD Summer Seminar Conference Committee?

Learning about amazing advocates across MN! It is such a fun community to be involved with!

• If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?

I would buy an absurd amount of animals.... Maybe a farm? I'm not sure, but I for sure want a dwarf goat!  

• What is one thing in your life that brings you joy?
  
  

Specifically, when I hear a goat that screams... or have chocolate cheesecake. 

Dr. Bermudez is the the Director, ADA/504 Coordinator for the Center for Disability Resources at Macalester College. 

• What do you love most about being on the MN AHEAD Summer Seminar Conference Committee?
  It is a fantastic opportunties to work with our Disability Resource colleague across the state of Minnesota and be an advocate for the great work we do on our campuses and for our students. 

• If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it? 

• What is one thing in your life that brings you joy?

Kayla Allen, M.S. , is the Director in the Office for Students with Disabilities at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, MN.

• What do you love most about being on the MN AHEAD Summer Seminar Conference Committee?

I love having the opportunity to connect, and build relationships with other professionals in our field.

• If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?
  
  

After paying off any debts, I would give some of the money to my sister to help pay off her house. Then,  my spouse and I would take a cruise around the world.

• What is one thing in your life that brings you joy?

I love sitting in the backyard in the summer around a bonfire with my loved ones.

"Matty Buckets"... nuf said.

• If you won a million dollars, how would you spend it?

Payoff student loans, pay rent, invest. Maybe buy a Switch 2. Or Matty Buckets fully customizable wheelchair.

• What is one thing in your life that brings you joy?

Good question. Are you my therapist?

The great relationship building and the wonderful brainstorming! Hearing everyone’s ideas makes me feel so inspired to continue my professional development!

• If you won a million dollars how would you spend it :

Probably pay off my student loans and then, with the rest of the money, splurge and get a Venti instead of a Tall at Starbucks  – if I had to spend it another way, probably on a house so my dog can have the backyard she deserves!!! (Dramatic May 2026 Update: I did in fact buy a house y'all!!!!!)

• What is one thing in life that brings you joy?

Not to give a basic answer, but my family - specifically my dog Meeka (she is so incredibly cute and lovey) but I guess my partner and kid too. (Noteably leaving out the menace kitty we adopted recently - I love her but she currently just brings me 'to the brink')
