Hi, I'm Mikayla!
I’m a small-town photographer based just 15 minutes outside of Athabasca, Alberta. Out here, life is a mix of busy and beautiful — between teaching in the classroom, helping out on our farm, wrangling our pup, and spending time with my amazing husband, I’ve learned how precious every little moment truly is. Those everyday moments are what inspire my work behind the camera.

Photography has always been more than just a creative outlet for me — it’s a way of storytelling. I believe photos should feel alive, carrying the emotions, laughter, and love that can’t always be captured with words. Growing up surrounded by wide-open skies, golden fields, and ever-changing seasons has shaped my appreciation for the simple, fleeting details that make life so special. That same sense of wonder is what I strive to bring into each session.

When you step in front of my lens, I want you to feel completely at ease — no pressure, no stiff poses, just the freedom to be yourself. I’ll guide you along the way, but my heart is in capturing the authentic connections: the way your partner looks at you, the joy of your kids being their goofy selves, the quiet in-between moments that you’ll want to hold onto forever.
