CLAUDE GIBNEY FINCH-DAVIES: ILLUSTRATIONS
CLAUDE GIBNEY FINCH-DAVIES: ILLUSTRATIONS
This website is a tribute to and collection of the illustrated works of Claude Gibney Finch-Davies.
Claude Gibney Davies was born in 1875 in Delhi, British India. He changed his surname to Finch-Davies following his marriage in 1916, and his later works do reflect this, as he had signed those works later in life. He died in Cape Town, South Africa, in 1920.
I had previously quoted him on the page of plates by J. G. Keulemans for The Ibis, 1875 (link). Specifically I allude to the caption to Plate VI for that publication (Accipiter ovampensis).
