Boys Water Polo is a Fall Sport (starts in Aug each year, ends around the beginning of Nov). We have a summer training camp and that info is below as well!
We accept all athletes and we do not cut based on ability. Our only requirement is that you can swim one lap across the pool without touching the bottom or using assistance. We hope to see you in the pool!

Coaching Staff
Matt Puig Head Varsity Coach
Coach Puig played at Murrieta Valley High from 2005-2009 under Coach Bryan Lynton. In that time, the boys won the school’s first CIF championship and had multiple Division 3 CIF Finals appearances. He earned All-American Accolades his junior and senior years. He also played for Elite, the Southern California Zone Team, and National Team. He was then recruited to play for D1 UCSB under Wolf Wigo. As a redshirt sophomore he transferred to Cal Baptist in Riverside. As a redshirt senior his team played in the school’s first NCAA Division II WWPA tournament appearance, He finished out his final season earning NCAA All-American. Since then he has coached and taught at Elsinore High School. He still play masters water polo for the club Darkside as well as RWP. He looks forward to coaching at Mesa. He will also be teaching Chemistry and AVID 11 at Mesa.
Spencer Paine Head JV Coach
Coach Paine started played waterpolo at Chaparral high school in Temecula before going on to play at RCC.
As a former waterpolo player in the area. coach Paine wants to continue to develop student athlete waterpolo players to the best in the valley, through dedication and the right mentality.
