Midwest Magnetic Fields Workshop 2024

6 - 8 June 2024 (9: 00 A.M. - 5 P.M., CDT)

Madison, Wisconsin, the United States

Overview

The Midwest Magnetic Fields Workshop 2024 (MMF 2024) is an annual event that brings together experts in the fields of magnetic fields and turbulence from around the world. The workshop aims to provide a forum for sharing the latest research and developments in these fields, as well as promoting collaborations and discussions between researchers.

Topics

The scientific topic of the MMF2024 is the study of astrophysical magnetic fields. Magnetic fields play a crucial role in a wide range of astrophysical phenomena, including star formation, accretion processes, and the dynamics of galaxies and clusters of galaxies. MMF2024 provides a platform for researchers to share their latest findings and discuss unsolved problems spanning theoretical, numerical, and observational aspects in the field of:

(1) MHD turbulence; Turbulent dynamo; Magnetic reconnection;

(2) Magnetic field measurements;  Cosmic ray transport  and acceleration;

(3) Magnetic field-related astrophysical processes, including star formation, FRBs, accretion disk, etc.
