Mining Media Data

About

This is the course website for the lecture on Mining Media Data. The main focus of this introductory course to focus on established and state-of-the-art data mining methods suited to analyze media data that usually are collections of behavioral telemetry, transactional, textual, social network, financial as well as temporal datasets. The topics we will investigate include: Affinity mining (∼ 15%), Latent pattern mining (∼ 50%), Text mining (∼ 15%) and Predictive data mining (∼ 20%). In addition to that, we will put emphasis on mathematical optimization, representation learning and model interpretability as well as give practical examples of the covered methods.

Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of AI, data science, machine learning, and pattern recognition; programming skills; good working knowledge in statistics, linear algebra, and optimization;

The course has 4-ETCS credits and is thought by Dr. Rafet Sifa and Prof. Dr. Christian Bauckhage.
