Calling all curious minds and future environment protectors!

I'm Mrs. McMillan, and I'm excited to be your guide on an incredible journey this year – a deep dive into the fascinating world of biology, with a special focus on environmental science!

I really love learning about science! I've always been curious about the world around us, and it's amazing to me. My studies show how much I care about it: I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a focus on Secondary Education, Master of Arts in Teaching, a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction. I am currently studying for my Doctorate of Sustainability on a joint study program through UH and UP - mainly on marine sustainability.

Since 2004, I've been honing my teaching skills across two states.  For a decade, I nurtured young minds in Virginia before relocating to New Jersey to build a family of my own.  Joining Matawan Regional High School in SY 2022-2023 marks the exciting start of my 22nd year of fostering a love for science in students!

But my passion for learning doesn't stop at the classroom door.  As a Clinical Supervisor at Western Governors University, I have the privilege of mentoring aspiring educators from all over the country.  Guiding the next generation of teachers is incredibly rewarding, ensuring a future filled with passionate educators like yourselves.

Beyond academics, you'll find me embracing the great outdoors with my husband. We're a family that cherishes every season, be it soaking up the sun on the beach, exploring vibrant trails in the fall, or carving fresh tracks on the winter slopes.  These experiences become even more enriching when shared with my daughters, Kaia and Isla, as we connect with nature.

My goal for this year is to create a positive and engaging learning environment where your curiosity thrives.  Together, we will transform this class into a memorable adventure filled with scientific discovery, personal growth, and academic success!

Join me this year and let's embark on this exciting journey together!
