The winter school will take place at the Schulz-Horner-Gebäude in Lecture Hall C03 (Hörsaal für Chemie). Coffee Breaks and Discussion Sessions will be in the Foyer of the Lecture Hall and in an adjacent Seminar Room.

The Lecture Hall is 2.5km from the Mainz Train Station, a roughly half hour walk

The Bus/Tram stop closest to the conference venue is Friedrich-von-Pfeiffer-Weg. Tram 51 (towards Marienborn) or 53 (towads Lerchenberg) will take you there from the Mainz Main Station

Lunch

There are the following options:

Accommodation

Participants are required to book their own accommodation (unless they successfully applied for funding).

We recommend the following hotels but others are good as well:

At the hotel Schottenhof, you should be able to obtain a reduced rate by mentioning that you are going to attend the winter school by the University of Mainz.

TRAVEL

The Mainz Main Station (Mainz Hbf) is well connected within Europe by train. Please refer to bahn.de to plan your travel.

The closest Airport is the Frankfurt International Airport (FRA). From there you should take a regional train to Mainz Hbf. While you are still inside the Airport, you will have to follow directions towards the train station of the airport, located underground the airport facility, called Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Regionalbahnhof. The relevant services from there are the S8, RE2, RE3. You will be able to buy tickets from vending machines once you are at the train station of the airport, for a price of about 5.80 Euro.

Note that the airport has a second train station, dedicated to long distance trains (Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Fernbf). You can get to Mainz from there as well, but at a slightly more expensive fare (9-15 Euro), and with a less frequent service.
