Physical Disabilities

The Islamabad Cleft Lip and Palate Association (ICLAPA) provides free medical treatment and surgical services to children with cleft lip and palate. Supported by families, friends, and philanthropists, the organization has been operating since 2004 and offers free treatment and surgery at the Fauji Foundation Hospital and Heart International. Parents of affected children can contact ICLAPA to register their children for treatment. Delay in treatment can lead to speech, behavioural, and psychological problems, and it is estimated that nearly 10,000 children with these deformities are born each year in Pakistan.
