📅 15–17 June 2026 📍 SISSA, Trieste (Italy), Big Meeting Room, 7th floor
This workshop brings together researchers in mathematics, mechanics, and materials science to explore the behavior of bio-inspired, active, and dissipative solids. Emphasis will be placed on understanding how activity, fracture, and dissipation shape the mechanics of living and synthetic materials.
Topics include continuum and variational models, viscoelastic and plastic responses, pattern formation and morphogenesis, fracture mechanics, and multiscale modeling of active media. The meeting aims to foster collaboration across theoretical, computational, and experimental perspectives on non-equilibrium solid mechanics.
