Shaping the Future of Multimodal Content Safety - Join Us! #MM4SG2024
In an increasingly interconnected world, where information flows rapidly through various digital platforms, multimodal content analysis has become an immense challenge. The prevalence of memes or text-embedded images has further complicated this issue, as it is often widely shared due to its engaging and easily consumable nature. Whether it is humorous memes or thought-provoking text-embedded images, these forms of content can quickly go viral, spreading across social networks and online communities like wildfire. Users are drawn to this content due to its visual appeal, concise messaging, and the potential to elicit emotional responses. As a result, these media formats have become powerful tools for communication, shaping opinions, and driving online conversations. However, with ease of sharing comes the pressing need to moderate such content effectively. Moderating these diverse forms of multimodal content demands sophisticated techniques and methodologies capable of simultaneously processing and understanding the nuances of visual and textual information.
The second International Workshop on Multimodal Content Analysis for Social Good (MM4SG 2024) aims to tackle these challenges head-on. By bringing together experts from various fields, including natural language processing, machine learning, computational social science, and ethics, the workshop seeks to explore innovative solutions for effective content moderation in the era of multimodal information sharing. MM4SG 2024 will provide a platform to exchange ideas, share cutting-edge research, and foster collaborations that can develop robust content analysis techniques.
Our workshop was held for the first time at ACM WebConf 2024 in Singapore. Please visit the website for 1st MM4SG workshop details.
