Dr. Long CHEN is an assistant professor at the department of CSE, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He is leading a computer vision and machine learning research group: LONG Group. Before joining HKUST, he was a postdoctoral research scientist at the DVMM Lab, Columbia University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the DCD Lab, Zhejiang University. During Ph.D. study period, he was also a visiting student at the MReal Lab, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and the NExT Center, National University of Singapore (NUS). He obtained his B.Eng. degree from Dalian University of Technology. He was a senior research scientist at Tencent AI Lab.
Northwestern University
Manling Li is an assistant professor at the Computer Science department of Northwestern University. Her work on multimodal knowledge extraction won the ACL'20 Best Demo Paper Award, the work on scientific information extraction from COVID literature won NAACL'21 Best Demo Paper Award, the work on controlling LLMs (LM-Steer) won ACL'24 Outstanding Paper Award. She was a recipient of Microsoft Research PhD Fellowship in 2021. She was selected as a DARPA Riser in 2022 (nominated by DARPA), and a EE CS Rising Star in 2022. She was awarded C.L. Dave and Jane W.S. Liu Award, and has been selected as a Mavis Future Faculty Fellow. She led 19 students to develop the UIUC information extraction system and ranked 1st in DARPA AIDA evaluation each phase. She gave tutorials about multimodal knowledge at ACL'21, AAAI'21, NAACL'22, AAAI'23, CVPR'23, IJCAI'24, and serves as Organizing Committee of ACL'25, NAACL'25, EMNLP'24, etc.
Singapore University of Technology and Design
Na Zhao is currently an assistant professor in the Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD) Pillar at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Prior to joining SUTD, she was a Research Fellow in Computer Vision and Robot Perception Lab, Department of Computer Science, National University of Singapore (NUS). She recieved her Ph.D. in Computer Science from NUS in March 2021, supervised by Professor Tat-Seng Chua. She is heading Intelligent Machine Perception Lab (IMPL) at SUTD, with a primary focus on, but not limited to: (1) Computer Vision: 3D computer vision, (3D) scene understanding, 3D reconstruction. (2) Machine Learning: data-efficient learning, multi-modal learning, continual learning, out-of-distribution learning, robust learning.
The Chinese University of Hong Kong
Liwei Wang is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Engineering department at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Before coming to HK, he has worked for more than two years as a Senior Researcher in Tencent AI Lab at Bellevue, US. He got his PhD from Computer Science Department, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, advised by Prof. Svetlana Lazebnik. His work encompasses a range of topics including Language+Vision, Large Language Models, Multi-modal Large Models, and Embodied AI. He serves as an Editorial Board member of International Journal of Computer Vision (IJCV). He has also served as an Area Chair in many top AI conferences.
Yingwei Pan is currently the Technical Partner at HiDream.ai, propeling it to be the top Generative Artificial intelligence company in China. He focuses on the research and innovation of multimedia content understanding, multimedia generative models, vision and language technologies, with a broad range of applications in retail, logistics, cloud/edge, and new media. He led the development and open-source release of the HiDream-I1 image generative model and the HiDream-E1 interactive editing model. HiDream-I1 topped the authoritative Artificial Analysis Image Arena leaderboard within 24 hours of release, becoming the first China-developed generative AI model to enter the global top tier. He also serves as the Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Multimedia.
