Welcome to my homepage.
Here is my full name, written in my mother tongue: Nguyễn Mạnh Linh
(in Vietnamese, the family name comes first).
I am an arithmetic geometer (despite the name LinhAT, I am no longer interested in algebraic topology). I am interested in the questions of rational points and approximation properties on algebraic varieties over global fields as well as over their geometric analogues.
Keywords: Galois cohomology, local–global principle, weak approximation, algebraic groups, homogeneous spaces, Brauer groups, quadratic forms, representation theory, patching.
See here for more on my work.
From September to December 2025, I will be visiting Prof. Ramdorai Sujatha at the Algebra and Algebraic Geometry team of the Department of Mathematics of the University of British Columbia, with funding from a Mitacs Globalink Research Award.
From September 2024 to August 2026, I am a postdoctoral fellow in the Topologie et Géométrie Algébrique team of the Institut de Mathématiques de Jussieu-Paris Rive Gauche, CNRS, with funding from an FSMP postdoc position.
From September 2021 to August 2024, I had been doing my Ph. D. in the Arithmétique et Géométrie Algébrique team of the Institut de Mathématiques d'Orsay, Université Paris-Saclay, under the supervision of David Harari, with funding from a Contrat doctoral spécifique normalien.
In the years 2018—2021, I was a normalien (student of École normale supérieure, PSL), majoring in mathematics.
(apart from my Diplôme de l'École normale supérieure) I obtained my Licence (bachelor's degree) at Université Paris-Dauphine in 2019 and my master's degree at Université Paris Cité in 2021, majoring in fundamental mathematics.
In the years 2015—2018, I was a student in the Honor Program in Mathematics of VNU University of Science.
I am fluent in French and English. I can read and write German, Esperanto, and a little Spanish.
My other hobbies include video games, cooking, learning languages, and speedcubing.
