Park Master Plan

The City of East Palo Alto is excited to embark on a mission for the improvement and expansion of Martin Luther King Junior Park.

What is important about this Master Plan?

Welcome to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Park Master Plan! Over the next year, the City will develop a Master Plan to guide the park’s improvements and expansion to better suit the needs of the residents. Community participation is a fundamental part of the master plan process, and we look forward to your input through a variety of meetings and events. All events and announcements will be posted on this website as well as distributed through the City newsletter and community groups.

Site Analysis

During the initial phase of this process, we will examine the existing conditions, opportunities, and constraints for the park’s expansion and renovation.

Existing Conditions

A major part of the process involves reviewing the current conditions that exist in the park and identifying opportunities to improve.

Initial Concepts

We will develop preliminary options based on initial site analysis and input from the community engagement process.

Sports Field Concept

With this option, Martin Luther King Jr. Park would become a true sports complex dedicated to providing extensive options for several community based organizations

Multi-Generational Concept

Creating a more inclusive and inviting experience for all, this concept would add several more amenities to the park as well as an improved playing field

Design Updates
