We live in a global and digital world -- a world changed by technology and new ideas about how we communicate with one another. Within the Moses Lake School District (MLSD), we realize that students must develop the research, information fluency, and technology skills that will allow them to be successful in this digital world, as well as the skills necessary to live safely and ethically. For this reason, the Moses Lake School District provides computer access privileges, as well as access to the internet, email, digital communication and collaboration tools, online learning spaces, and electronic educational resources. These resources, tools, and equipment are essential to teaching and learning.

Moses Lake High School is dedicated to the success and achievement of all students. It is our goal to provide every student who walks through our doors with the most authentic and relevant education we can. We are excited to be on this journey and to see what our students can do with the amazing tools they have been given!

None of these goals can be met with out feedback, involvement, and voices from our community. We hope this website serves as a resource for you to make your voices heard and to empower you with the tools to support our MLHS students.

My name is Stefan Troutman and I am the Instructional Technology Specialist for Moses Lake High School. It is my job to support the high school staff as we implement technology into our classrooms. Our goal is to make sure that the implementation of technology has a positive impact on student learning, and transforms lessons in such a way that students are able to reach new academic heights!

Before this position I was a 7th Grade English Language Arts teacher at Chief Moses Middle School. During the 17/18 school year I had the opportunity to be a part of the 1:1 Chromebook pilot. All of my students were given their own Chromebook to take to and from school, and it was a turning point in my career as an educator! At the beginning I was excited at the possibilities having Chromebooks represented, but as the year progressed I was astounded by impact this new environment had on student learning. My students were able to take more ownership over their learning, thus increasing engagement and learning for all levels of learners. As a classroom teacher, that really is the best possible outcome! I chose to apply for the position of Instructional Technology Specialist because I was inspired by the power of technology in the classroom! However, I also understand how much work it can be to properly implement new tools in a classroom. I am dedicated to supporting teachers, administration, students and parents as our community makes this shift!
