The primary areas of interest for the group revolve around healthcare. This includes: Medical Image Processing, Cancer detection and cure (radiotherapy), and the most recent one is Alzheimer's Disease (AD).
However, affiliated students have worked in many other areas including Retail markets, Stocks, Geophysics, Crime prediction, etc.

Suri (2014-15), Developed a Braille Alphabet Learning system. She has formed three companies already.
M Varma (2013-15), Developed a wireless smartphone-based system for the diagnosis of pulmonary illnesses. The project was a winner of the White House Science Fair 2016, Davidson Fellowship 2016, 2015 Intel ISEF finalist, Google regional finalist 2015, etc. Won many awards for this work, including Intel Science Competition. Named among “Top 22 under 22”. Now a student at Stanford University.

Extract keen insights on the health of populations in the wound care program (skin ulcers, surgical wounds, etc.) with data coming from an in-house app to provide POC analysis of images, using the PostgreSQL database.

An active implantable medical device (AIMD) implanted close to the resection site of a solid tumor mass in order to trap residual migrating cancer cells and to kill them.

Developing a Python-based automatic system to extract vessel direction from brain CT scans.
Used MATLAB and Python (Scikit-learn, PyCaret, TensorFlow, Keras, DLTK, pydicom, nibabel, medpy, pandas, etc.) in the processing of Brain CT scans (stroke patients, both CT Angiography & CT Perfusion scans).

Developed a Deep Learning system with Python (with Scikit-Learn/TensorFlow/Keras) to predict foot injuries by studying foot patterns of athletes in foot pressure distribution images.
With Meharry Medical College, Nashville, TN
Developed a Python-based system for the identification and classification of CT scans of patients with pancreatic leaks after the Whipple Procedure and discovered the root cause of the leaks.
