Miss Aikey is a passionate music educator with a love for creativity, connection, and all things musical. A proud graduate of West Chester University, she earned her degree in Music Education with a focus on voice. While studying, she discovered a joy for working with a variety of instruments and quickly realized how music can bring people together and help shape who they are. Whether singing or strumming, she’s always found music to be a powerful force for growth.
Currently, Miss Aikey teaches music to students in Pre-K through 5th grade at Brighton Avenue Elementary School in Atlantic City. Her classroom is a place where kids are encouraged to express themselves, try new things, and work together through music. She believes music education isn't just about learning notes and rhythms—it's about building confidence, empathy, and teamwork. Her goal is to create an environment where every student feels seen, heard, and inspired.
Always looking to grow, Miss Aikey continues to explore new teaching strategies to keep her lessons fresh and exciting. Outside of school, you’ll find her enjoying the waves on the beach, diving into a good book, or testing out new recipes in the kitchen. She brings that same curiosity and energy to her teaching, helping students grow not just as musicians, but as kind, creative, and capable individuals ready to take on the world.
Mr. Whitcomb is a caring and energetic music educator who recently earned his Bachelor of Music in Education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. He believes music is not just about learning notes—it's about building confidence, character, and community. During his time student teaching at Northley Middle School and Pocopson Elementary, Mr. Whitcomb made lasting connections with students by bringing fun, creativity, and kindness into every lesson. Whether he was leading the band, singing with kids in the hallways, or finding new ways to support students with different learning needs, he always aimed to make school a place where everyone felt valued.
Throughout college, Mr. Whitcomb took on leadership roles that helped him grow both as a musician and as a mentor. He served as President of the Men’s Chorus, Section Leader in the Golden Rams Marching Band, and Principal Trombonist in several ensembles. These experiences taught him the importance of teamwork, communication, and showing up for others—skills he brings into every classroom. His goal is always to help students not only grow as musicians but also feel proud of who they are.
Outside the classroom, Mr. Whitcomb enjoys cooking, exploring new places, spending time with dogs, and listening to music of all kinds. He loves a good adventure and believes that joy and learning go hand-in-hand. More than anything, Mr. Whitcomb wants to help others succeed and hopes to create a welcoming space where students feel encouraged, supported, and inspired to be their best selves—both in music and in life.
