He received his M.Tech (Optoelectronics and Laser Technology) and Ph.D. in Photonics from Cochin University of Science and Technology and works as the Professor and Director at the International School of Photonics, CUSAT. He is currently the Chairman, board of studies in Photonics, CUSAT. He was formerly the Dean of the Faculty of Technology and a Member of Syndicate at CUSAT. He has also served as the Dean of the faculty of Engineering and Technology at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. He has supervised 13 Ph.D. students and published over 120 research papers in international journals in the fields of Lasers, Optical fibers, and Photonic Materials.
