This is a new website. many changes will be done over time and it is still a work in progress
I am the Senior Advisor to the Administration and its members, and proudly serve as Press Secretary. What got me into weather was the 2020 Easter Sunday Tornado Super outbreak, as I watched a local meteorologist frantically tell us to get under ground. If you look at the GIS map, an EF3 marker is less than 300 feet from my house. We lost 12 trees and power was knocked out for 5 days. A few days after, a very strong MCS came through and we lost another 13 trees. The weather scenario that caused extensive roof and siding damage, as well as insulation from our house being shoved between the window panes was described as “worse than Katrina” damage from an assessor who came to our house. Ever since then I want to give people the pleasure of knowing when something bad is happening, not darting to the basement because our phones went off (this particular tornado was Tornado Emergency upgraded). Ever since then, we have 4 weather radios, and why not, the more the merrier!
