What's Happening?

Tomorrow, August 13th, YouTube will be rolling out an AI age verification system that checks a user's watch history/activity to determine if they're underage or not.

How does this affect normal viewers?

If you're marked as underage, the type of content you'll view will be restricted. Not only that, but YouTube has said that they will be enabling digital well being tools.

How does this affect creators?

If you're marked as underage, the following will happen:

1. Setting uploads as private by default for anyone

2. Restricting the ability to earn gifts on vertical live streams

And a bunch more stupid stuff like that.

So what's the point of this statement?

All I want to talk about today is what will happen if I'm marked as underage...

It's simple, I'll be leaving the platform until YouTube reverses their decision. Does this mean MJS1 will quit? Hell no! I still definitely plan to upload on YouTube, it's just I'll be taking a break until the AI age verification thing is completely stopped.

So yeah, that's all. I don't really want to explain more about the AI age verification system as I don't know that much about it. All I know? Is that it's fucking stupid!
