Cadabra: free symbolic computer algebra
For field theory calculations, it is suggested Cadabra, a free software package, useful for abstract index manipulations. Tutorials can be found on the official website, but also on the materials of the course Selected Topics in the Theories of Gravity (https://sisu.ut.ee/gravity/lecture-materials), given every other year by members of the Laboratory of Theoretical physics. The conference Geometric Foundations of Gravity 2025 featured a workshop in Cadabra and Sympy for symbolic computations in general relativity. The Cadabra tutorial is available in this link.
