研究内容
私は，言語の音韻的特徴や学習経験が，感情的評価，感覚運動イメージ，意味の理解にどのような効果をもたらすのかに関心を持っています。「言葉から人は何を感じ取るのか」「意味はどこから来るのか」について，私自身の母語である日本語を材料に，実験心理学の手法を用いて検討しています。
詩的言語と美的経験
詩歌における頭韻や韻律などの音の特徴が，言語的な表現の美しさや感情の評価に及ぼす影響を研究しています。音韻的な規則性によって，語彙的な意味を持たない言語表現にも「意味がありそう」という主観的な感覚を喚起される現象についても，興味を持っています。
言語・感情・評価の学習
私たちは，さまざまな言語表現から，感覚・運動・感情的なイメージを喚起されます。現在，主に評価的条件づけのパラダイムを用いて，その獲得過程を研究しています。新奇語が新たな「意味」を獲得する過程を知りたいと思っています。
音象徴と感覚間協応
言語音と感覚的なイメージの間に見られる対応関係を研究しています。特に，母音の長さが味覚イメージに及ぼす影響に着目し，音と「意味」との関係が必ずしも恣意的でない可能性を検討しています。
そのほか
言語や美学にまつわる共同研究に携わっています。たとえば，外国語の連合学習の研究や，文字種（ひらがな・カタカナ）の印象の研究などに関わっています。また，政治心理学や感情心理学の共同研究にも参加しています。
