Walkover Time: 15 minutes
Time Control: 30 minutes + 10-second increment from move 1.
System of Play: The championship will be played under FIDE's Laws of Chess and the Swiss System. A total of nine rounds shall be played. The Chief Arbiter shall have the right to make deviations from the declared schedule.
AICF registration fee of ₹300 for 2026–27 is compulsory for all participants, except those who have already paid and can provide proof of payment/registration.
New-player registration is available through the AICF portal.
Important: A passport-size photograph less than 1 MB in JPEG format is required for the online registration.

Players shall not agree to a draw without the consent of the arbiter before each player has made 30 moves.
All electronic items, including wrist watches of all types, are prohibited in the tournament hall. Players found in possession of such items may be disqualified.
All expenditure related to participation in the tournament shall be borne by the players themselves.
Protests against a decision of the Chief Arbiter must be submitted in writing with a ₹1,000 protest fee within 30 minutes of the occurrence.
The fee will be refunded if the appeal is upheld.
Players without proper dress may not be permitted to participate.
A five-member Appeals Committee will be formed by the AICF/organizers before the tournament. Its decision shall be final and binding on the players concerned.
