I was given corn on the cob as my object. i started of with observational drawings including continuous line drawing, close up drawings then i went in to mark making using more vibrant colours. I created variety of samples from:
-latex
-masking tape
-clay
-wire, beads and toothpicks
-yarn and thread
Southbank was my chosen location to explore buildings and contructions in this particular area by drawing in numerous ways using variety of matierals. During the three days, i had completed an A5 sketchbook of drawings, mostly engaging in the shapes/structures. i then researched the idea of over crowdedness of the city. So i over lapped the shapes to demonstrate this. i then looked in to the idea of finding 'home' what it really means and where it truly is. The mind is a journey it self you walk through your thoguhts, trying to find an answer which is why during the three days i was focused on looking for details in every new street i entered as each would have its own uniqueness to the same question.
sketchbook from three days in southbank:
protecting is the a way to express you, your thoughts and opinions. To let free the anger you kept, trying to find peace within. i chose 'kurdistan' the place of hiden deaths, child rapers, violence, discrimination and racism. its unwanted/unnamed, from the map you cannot point it out nor would you ever want to visit incase you get caught speaking kurdish or were ideatified as an kurd, you'll be tortured in a way where the world is muted; the slince is really the violence. i am kurdish, which is why for this project i used my passport as i get stopped and questioned every time i enter turkey. My name is kurdish the area my parents were both born and raised in is in 'kurdistan'. we are hiden but targetted.
'protect your pants from going red'
i used the idea of how pads are protection from knickers getting blood on it. I then looked into razors the form of it how it prevents blood from flowing out the skin.
sketchbook:
wedding photos, kept in the most beautiful precious albums, hiden in safe spots. All the emotions and excitements to be relived with every glance of photo. i explored the traditions we have had for years as an family.
