I am a Professor of English at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), where I explore the nuances of language and literature with my students. My intellectual journey extends beyond BUET, as I also serve as an Adjunct Faculty in the Department of World Religions and Culture, University of Dhaka, reflecting my deep interest in diverse systems of belief.
My academic foundations were laid in Dhaka and further broadened in Bangi, Malaysia, where I trained in literary studies and applied linguistics. This interdisciplinary background fuels my diverse research interests, which span languages, literatures, and related fields. A strong commitment to social justice and diversity threads through all my scholarly pursuits.
Beyond my teaching and research, I actively contribute to the academic community as a PhD external examiner for numerous universities across South Asia and as a reviewer for national and international scholarly journals in my areas of expertise.
On a personal level, I find profound peace in Islamic practices and rituals, complemented by the enriching experience of reading scriptures from various faiths. I believe in holistic well-being, nourishing my body with diverse 'halal' foods, embracing the tranquility of morning yoga, and enjoying the refreshing energy of an evening brisk walk. Whenever the opportunity arises, I cherish a swim, whether in a pond, lake, river, or pool. My reading tastes are wide-ranging, though I admit to having certain literary inclinations.
I am passionate about fostering intellectual curiosity and understanding across different disciplines and cultures.
