Instructions for sending your files for Mixdown.
Before you hit export, ensure every track in your session meets these criteria:
Unity Gain: Set all channel faders to 0 dB (Unity). This ensures the levels are loud and exactly as they were recorded.
Lose the Processing: Turn off all EQ, compression, and reverb plugins. The only exception is if a specific effect is "baked into" the sound (like a creative guitar amp sim).
Point Zero Alignment: Every single track must start at the exact same timestamp (0:00), even if the instrument doesn't come in until later. This allows me to drop the files into my DAW and have everything line up perfectly.
Export Format: Use WAV format. Maintain the same sample rate and bit depth used during recording. For example, if you recorded at 96kHz/24-bit, do not up-convert or down-convert.
Check "Bypass Effects": Most DAWs have a checkbox in the export menu to "Include Effects" or "Bypass Effects." Ensure effects are bypassed.
File Naming: Please do not send a folder full of files named "Audio_01." Label your tracks clearly (e.g., "Kick," "Lead Vocal," "Gtr Left").
Upload: Use WeTransfer.com and send to: mixdesirestudio@gmail.com
Project Details: Please include a message the BPM (tempo) and a rough mix (MP3) so I can hear your vision for the track if possible. Please feel free to telephone if you are unsure about anything.
