Project aims

We define our primary research goal as follows:

To elucidate the early inflammatory processes in NAFLD that lead to steatohepatitis and fibrosis.

To answer this research question, we have formulated the following sub goals:

1. To identify the stress signals that lead to γδ T cell activation in the early phase of NAFLD

2. To map early inflammatory responses in NAFLD using high-dimensional immuno-phenotyping.

3. To elucidate communication between stress sensors and effector type immune cells on a functional level.
