The PRISM 2021 Conference, hosted by MIT SPS and UWIP, will be held from Monday, February 1, 2021 to Friday, February 5, 2021. If you are an MIT, Harvard, Wellesley, Brown, or Berkeley student doing physics research or a student from another college doing physics research with an MIT-affiliated supervisor, we highly recommend that you sign up to present a talk or poster at this event!
We hope that this will be a valuable opportunity for all of you to showcase your work in the potential absence of other avenues thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. We also hope that this will give you a chance to hone your presentation skills and see the exciting research that your peers are doing in all areas of physics.
If you choose to present, you will be asked to present either a talk or a poster. Unfortunately, due to timing limitations, we cannot allow students to present both. Each talk will have a 10-minute time limit with 2 minutes for Q&A. Poster presenters will deliver short presentations on Zoom followed by Q&A time.
In order to present at PRISM, speaker registration is required. Attendance is open to the MIT community and broader public, with a separate registration. There are three main ways to participate in PRISM:
Talks: Present a 10-minute talk live over Zoom.
Posters: Present a poster live and ask presenters your questions.
Q&A: Attendees will be able to ask live questions to all presenters about their work.
Presenters will also have the option of signing up to receive feedback on their talk or poster from postdoc and faculty mentors.
