THE START
Born and raised in Southlake, Texas, and growing up with two older brothers, sports was always an important piece of my life. From a young age, I was dragged from football practice to hockey games, being the little sister cheerleader. Once I could play myself, I tried about every sport on the list. After a few unfortunate injuries in middle school, sports was no longer something I could personally participate in, but I did not let that hold me back. Behind a camera, I found a way into every game possible. I spent late nights watching NFL hype reels, and wondering how people made such cool transition videos. Before I knew it my curiosity turned into passion. It wasn't long before I begged my parents for a shiny new camera and took off to middle school football games. From middle school, my passion grew into a talent, creating more than just a hobby. Being the football team photographer at Southlake Carroll gave me a whole team of friends. From bonding with the team to gaining experience, being their photographer was the highlight of my high school career. From creating the game day post, and late-night editing sessions of video reels, I was well equipped for the next level of strife and creative work.
ENTERING THE BIG 12
Within my first year at the University of Oklahoma, I was able to gain broadcast experience, as well as on-field time. From OU-Nightly articles to SoonerSports pad episodes, I jumped into every possible sports network possible. I even helped start the OU-Nightly sports Twitter, giving live game-day updates to the entire Sooner Nation, and producing game-day graphics throughout the entire week. I got the best photography experience of my entire career with this amazing football team and their electric energy. Personally, my favorite part of game day was the moment the team would walk out of the locker room and I was the only photographer in the hall. It was such a vibrant moment and seeing the passion behind this team is the entire reason my love for football was sparked all those years ago. Today as a senior, I am still just as hooked on the atmosphere. As of this past year, I also have the amazing privilege of being on the GameDay U show staff. GameDay U is the only pre-game sports show at OU, as well as the only OU show that is broadcast to the entire state on live cable. While one day I hope to be a host of the show, right now I am doing media and creating content for the show's socials. In my free time, I bounce to any OU sporting event possible to help expand my photography portfolio.
OFF THE FIELD
Aside from snapping shots and editing player pics, I paint and am heavy in studio art. I can play the guitar, piano, ukulele, and banjo, needless to say, all sides of arts are my passion. Although I cannot compete in sports, working out takes up a lot of my time and I spend most afternoons at the gym. I am currently attending the University of Oklahoma, and majoring in Creative Media Production. I also plan to take an online course for my PTCT (Personal Training Certificate of Texas), during the first semester at OU. With these degrees I will be able to have numerous job options, giving me a good start fresh out of college. I set my goals high, and hope to one day work directly for an NFL team, fingers are crossed its the Cowboys!
