I am a New York-based Special Education Teacher with dual certification in Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities (Grades 1–6) and over ten years of experience in the field. My practice is grounded in a commitment to advocacy — ensuring that every student receives the educational support and legal protections they are entitled to.
The Learning Link was built to bridge the gap between schools and the families and educators who support students with disabilities. The resources here are curated with that mission in mind. If something you need isn't available, I encourage you to reach out — this site grows through the needs of its community.
I believe that all students are capable of learning, though they may do so at different paces and through different learning styles. It is my responsibility as an educator to recognize and respond to those differences by providing instruction and support that meets each student where they are and helps them grow.
At the core of my practice is the belief that strong, respectful relationships drive meaningful learning. I am committed to building a collaborative partnership with both students and their families, grounded in trust, open communication, and mutual respect. Establishing and maintaining this rapport creates a foundation that supports not only academic success but also social and emotional development.
I believe students learn best in environments where they feel safe, respected, and valued. Their voices matter, and they should be active participants in their own educational journey. By fostering a classroom culture where students feel heard and supported, I empower them to take ownership of their learning.
Advocacy is a central component of my role as an educator. I am steadfast in ensuring that each student receives what they need to succeed—whether that means increased support, greater independence, or placement in the most appropriate educational setting. I approach this responsibility with honesty, professionalism, and a commitment to doing what is in the best interest of the child.
Ultimately, I pride myself on being a strong advocate for my students while building meaningful relationships with them and their families. I also believe in shared accountability, where all stakeholders work together to support each child’s growth and success. My goal is to create an environment where every student has the opportunity, support, and encouragement to reach their full potential.
