ABOUT US
As an undergraduate team at the Aeronautical Engineering Department of the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), we create aircraft for the AIAA Design, Build, and Fly (DBF) competition each year.
Conceptual design, multidisciplinary optimization, aerodynamic, structural, and propulsive analysis, composite layups, CAD software, UAV production, and remote-control flying are among the skills our students acquire. Through DBF, members can explore their passion for aeronautics and enhance their technical, collaborative, and communication abilities. Please feel free to write us at teamdbf.mist@gmail.com with any queries.
About the Competition
Every year, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) arranges a Design, Build, Fly (DBF) competition where students are allowed to use their conceptual knowledge in aircraft design and gain real-world experience in designing and flying their designed aircraft.
This year, the objective is to design, build, and test an airplane to demonstrate Urban Air Mobility (UAM) missions. Flight missions will include delivery of the airplane, medical transport, and urban taxi.
