Supporting Learning at Home
Although you will find many useful resources on this webpage to help support your child's education at home, it is not expected that your child explore every single one of these options. Grade Primary is all about inspiring young learners and setting a strong foundation for further learning.
With that being said, the emphasis should be placed on Math and Literacy... or to break it down further, Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening. I invite you, as parents and guardians, to intentionally set aside time, daily, for activities that incorporate Math as well as Reading and Writing.
Other than this, allow your child to PLAY! Play provides many wonderful and meaningful learning opportunities for children and this is where they will explore other subjects such as Science and Social Studies. Allow them to explore the backyard, do science experiments with household items, gaze at the stars, use the internet to virtually explore museums and watch educational TV!
Above all else, make sure your child is having fun no matter what they do. At this crucial time in their development it is important that we all work together to foster a love of learning!
