About me:

Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Walker. I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year. This year is going to be full of new adventures and fun! This is my 6th year teaching second grade! It is my FAVORITE age! 

 I am a graduate of Richland High School. I continued my education at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education. While working towards my bachelor's, I additionally received a certification in Special Education and English as a Second Language. I continued my education and completed my master's degree through Penn West University in Educational Psychology!

Beyond academics, I am passionate about mental health advocacy and believe that students can only thrive to their full potential when their mind is being taken care of. In our classroom, I integrate social-emotional learning to help students develop decision-making skills, problem-solving abilities, goal-setting strategies, empathy, and emotional resilience.

In my free time outside of school, I enjoy working out at the gym, being active outside, and traveling to as many new places as possible!
